Football

Xander has been talking more and more, and he is very good at expressing what he wants. Lately, he's been wanting to watch as much football on TV as possible. As soon as he walks into the apartment, he runs over to the TV and says, "Football!" All it takes is a glimpse of a helmet, or a flash of a ball flying through the air in some commercial, and he goes crazy. He does the signal for "Touchdown" when he passes by Huron High School's field (every morning on the way to school), and he points out articles in the newspaper that are about football. He is a diehard Michigan fan, but he enjoys the sport enough to watch whatever team happens to be playing. He loves it when any team scores, but he reserves his special touchdown dance for big games like when Michigan makes a ridiculous comeback against #9 Wisconsin. He never seems to get depressed when the home team is down, he's confident that things will work out. When the team loses, he always says, "Don't worry dad, we'll get the next one. You'll see." And he's right.

I still can't get over the fact that he likes the NFL, but I think he'll grow out of it.

On a completely unrelated note, Xander has been really hitting the books hard, and it shows. His reading comprehension is incredibly advanced for his age, and he's always looking for more challenging reading material.

Spoken like a true father. I am glad that he enjoys football. Maybe he can be a quarterback because he is small? Just kidding.
